KEY ISSUES

The following summarizes the issues presented at the 2 Dec 2002 meeting of the Hunt Club Community Organization (HCCO) at the Hunt Club Riverside Community Centre (HCRCC).

  1. Issues discussed:  /\
  2. Alan Asselstine: The Sawmill Creek Subwatershed Study has been completed: it recommends the construction of three large ponds between the Airport Parkway and the railroad and the construction of berms behind the houses on Plante Drive that back onto the Airport Parkway. Construction was paid for from development fees collected over the past 10 years. We need to push for a pedestrian walkway to connect Plante Drive with the South Keys Shopping Centre, the walkway would go under the Airport Parkway by means of a tunnel.

Maria McRae reported on the Hunt Club Riverside Community Services Centre (HC/R CSC). The Services Centre has completed its Strategic Planning to 2006, it has prepared its Business Plans, Human Resources Manual and the 2003 Spring Directory of Services. On December 7 there will be an Open Spaces Forum at the Nepean Sportsplex. On Dec 11, the Services Centre will present its budget to the Health, Recreation and Social Services Committee of the City of Ottawa. On December 17 there will be a tour of Christmas Lights with singing by Dominic Dunn, for tickets call 247-1600.
