Create Points of Interest throughout Hunt Club

Problem

Hunt Club residents have a limited number of interesting places to go in the area. As a result, there is little motivation to go for a walk in the evenings and during the day. With fewer people outside walking, there is less opportunity for residents to naturally communicate among each other. There is also less to interest people from outside our community to come here.

To meet most of our aesthetic, cultural, and other needs, we must travel outside our community, usually in an independent and isolated (from our neighbors) manner (by car) - and we must make a concerted decision and effort before doing so. Without interest points that cater to all segments of our community, those segments must either do without or spend more to do with, or sit and watch TV to satisfy their aesthetic needs vicariously.

Community Submissions

Proposals

As a start to increasing the number of interest points, rezone and develop the open grassy area on the north and east side of Uplands near Country Club/Huntwood Court - between the children's park and Huntwood Court (east-west), and the wooded area and Uplands Dr. (north-south) - into a English type of square (green) and build some stores around that green: maybe a coffee shop, hair salon, confectionary, small office or two, studio of some kind.
