Concept
Here are two suggested future light rail lines:
- Along Innis Road. Why? Because Innis is very long. Currently you must take a car from your home virtually anywhere in Orleans to virtually any outlet along Innis Road. Innis Road is wide enough to accommodate a potentially elevated LRT along its length, possibly on the south side where you would not need over/underpasses for people going to/from the outlets (at least on one side). Also, if the LRT is on the south side, it is farther away from the residential neighborhoods on the north. Th
- Same consideration for Strandherd in Barrhaven.
- These LRT lines do not even need to link into any existing LRT system. It would simply shuttle back/forth along Innis or Strandherd, moving potentially a large enough number of people to finance itself.
